VF&C "Valuable Fascinating & Clever"
- Mystery Mini Classes

For just $5.00, these short mystery mini classes will introduce you to a wide variety of techniques, tools and gadgets.

One week advance registration is required for "VF&C" mystery minis as with all classes. All "VF&C" mystery mini classes will begin promptly at 11:00 am. BONUS!!! Provided you have preregistered and paid for the VF&C Mystery Mini class in advance, you are welcome to remain in the classroom to stitch a project of your choosing and your $5.00 class fee will be returned to you in the form of a store credit to be used toward a purchase made on the day of the class!

Coloring is relaxing and fun. Adult coloring books are everywhere in all subjects. This class will show you how to color on fabrics, what markers to use and how to make your colored designs permanent. Use your colored fabric motifs for all kinds of stitching projects; we will share ideas. The fabrics printed for coloring are wonderful and more are coming! Beginners welcome! Class fee: $10.00

Cuddle is the softest fabric ever and there is nothing like its softness tucked around your neck to keep out the winter cold. Beginning Sock

Socks are one of the easiest clothing items to knit. Today's yarns are soft, warm, long wearing, machine washable, available in different weights and the color choices are unbelievable! The Magic Loop method eliminates using sets of double pointed needles and we have a heel method that eliminates turning the heel and picking up instep stitches. Basic knitting knowledge required. Class fee: $50.00

Paint Stiks

Paintstiks! Oh, the Possibilities!

Monday, January 18 ** 10-12

Paintstiks are oil based paints which are permanent on fabrics. Apply with brushes, stencils and rubbing plates. The blending sticks work magic with shading. Come and try them in this class to learn the techniques. You will be so impressed with your artistic results! Beginners welcome! Class fee: $20.00 which includes the use of our Paintstiks.

The Tourist Tote

Don't let the name fool you on this one! This tote is nice and roomy and just the right size for everyday use as well. The handles are sewn to the bag for extra durability and their length allows you to carry the tote over you shoulder if you prefer. In this class, you will learn basic tote bag construction, the importance of an interfacing or stabilizer and how to add handy pockets if desired. Class fee: $30.00

Winter Cardinal Mini Wallhanging

This sweet little wallhanging will brighten even the gloomiest of winter days with a cheerful little cardinal sitting on a branch with red button embellishments for berries. Learn fusible appliqué, a bit of machine quilting and finishing techniques. Make it easy; we have complete fabric kits. Class fee: $30.00

Making Friends With Your Sewing Machine

Do you know all that your sewing machine can do for you? What about all those feet? The correct foot does make a huge difference as does the needle you are using. How often should you change the needle and what about a bit of regular at home maintenance? We will offer guidance to make you and your sewing machine the best of friends. Class fee: $10.00

From CD Design to Stitching

The market is absolutely exploding with so many irresistible and clever designs for machine embroidery. Many of the new designs are stitched "in the hoop" and can be completed in a 5" x 7" hoop. The designs are on multi-formatted CD'S. The first step is how to get these wonderful designs to your embroidery machine. From personal experience we know how frustrating this can be. During this demonstration, we will share what we have learned so you can start enjoying your wonderful embroidery machine! Class fee: $5.00

Cozy Raggy Quilt

Cozy, Cuddly Flannel Raggy Quilt

Absolutely nothing beats a cozy flannel quilt in the winter. These quilts are perfect for beginners as well as those with some experience. The pattern is one of our original designs for using the terrific flannel picture panels. During the first class, you will cut fabrics and begin machine quilting the center panel. The following class will continue the piecing, adding the optional raggy binding and clipping the seam allowances. Make it easy; we have four different kits from which to choose! Class fee: $50.00

Rub-a-Dub Knitted Washcloth

This bulky microfiber yarn makes the best bath accessories. It is super soft, knits quickly on size 11 needles and dries just as fast. Beginning level knitting skills required. We will also share other bath accessory ideas using this fun new yarn. Class fee: $15.00

Now you can place messages on placemats and table runners with Chalkcloth. Chalkcloth is fabric with a chalkboard finish on one side. Stitch patches of Chalkcloth into your quilted projects. Write personalized messages with chalk markers, erase with a damp cloth and write a new messages as desired. This table runner pattern gives options for Chalkcloth patch placement, size options and even a pattern for Chalkcloth placemats. Learn the tricks of using Chalkcloth and other suggested uses. Nothing beats good old fashioned potluck dinners and casseroles are always a favorite. Casseroles are meant to be nice and hot and this casserole carrier will keep your culinary delight oven hot until serving time. When you arrive at the potluck, the carrier opens flat to a pretty table runner and protection for the table. Learn a bit of patchwork and appliqué while making your casserole cover. Size options are 9" X 13" and 8" x 8". Class fee: $30.00

Dimensional Fabric Wreath

This dimensional design is equally pretty as a wreath or table topper. You will have lots of fun learning this technique using foam stabilizer to create the dimension. Make one for every season; your fabric choices make it that easy. Class fee: $30.00

Plan a class for you and 2-3 or more of your friends.It can be something from the current schedule, something we have offered in the past or something that you have always wanted to try or know more about.Give us a call with your ideas and times and we will plan a date.Please allow at least 3-4 weeks for planning, scheduling a date and staff.It is that easy to have a fun day with friends in Paradise!

To Ensure Your Success in Classes

Preregistration and prepayment are required for all classes.This allows the instructor to be properly prepared and allow us to schedule additional staffing in the shop.Registering at least one week in advance of the class is greatly appreciated.There are supplies that are needed for classes and we will advise you of what is needed at the time of payment and registration.Unless otherwise noted, class fees are for instruction only.

All supplies are available at Village Fabrics & Crafts.We strive to keep all items in stock to make your preparation and shopping easy, convenient and greatly appreciate it when you purchase your supplies from us.We have tested them and are confident in their quality and your success when using the.If you have some supplies at home you are welcome to bring them.Store credit only for cancellations.



CLASSES

For your convenience our classroom is fully equipped with irons, ironing boards, cutting mats and rulers. We also have Bernina sewing machines available for your use. Please reserve one when you register for your class-first come, first serve.

You fill in the blank, what would you like to learn? Bring along at least 2-3 of your friends and we will schedule a class just for you. You select the project, date and time, give us as much notice as possible to work it into our regular schedule, prepare and we'll have a date! You can select from classes listed on the current schedule (if the date doesn't fit your group), something offered in a previous schedule or just ask if you have any other interests; we'll do our best to accommodate. We're here to help you enjoy all the needle arts to their fullest!
